Can I get medication reminders by text?

Yes. Medication reminders are set up in the Slothwise app, where you can choose Text for "Medication reminders" under Notifications on your profile page. Each reminder text has "Taken", "Skip" and "Snooze" buttons (on plain SMS, reply 1, 2 or 3), and Snooze reminds you again in 10 minutes. Without the app, text REMIND for a simple reminder.
